Collection: Buried Rings
Some of the toughest lenses to spot! Key features are: a biggish bright yellow galaxy, with a circular ring of different-coloured light around it that is blended with the yellow galaxy starlight. These rings will be rare, but they are real gems: the fact that the lensed feature is a ring means that the source is being highly magnified, and that there is a *lot* of information about the mass distribution of the lens galaxy.
Would you be kind enough to reference an example for me so I can see what one looke like.
Bright blue treasure hidden inside bright yellow elliptical galaxies!
