What is being done with the modeled candidates

  First of all, modelers are to be congratulated! Nobody was counting on regular modeling at this stage of the project, and the main Spacewarps analysis pipeline hadn't even planned for modeling until much later. So far, modeling on Spacewarps has been mainly to gain experience and learn from each other through the Talk threads.

  As the next step, probably the most effective thing would be to present the most convincing candidates in Zooniverse Letters. That makes them very accessible for people doing follow-up work. Best would be if all the Spacewarps volunteers doing modeling would collaborate on the first Zooniverse Letter on lens modeling. This first Letter doesn't need to present many candidates, even one would be fine. But it should set an example for the subsequent Letters, which could be written individually or in smaller teams.

  In parallel, we have the modeling challenge
  where modelers are invite to reconstruct a selection of sims. The models then get compared to the original mass distributions that went into making the sims. This procedure tests how well the modeling process works.
