Using GZ for image attachment, please find another fits files processing/filter stretch

I assure of no removing red eye by photoshop... 😃

You can verify by imaging yourself !

Since being an Einstein ring is now eliminated from the equation - any thoughts? A Star?

So what do you think it is?

Variable star? Ecliping binary star? Star with nebula?

I also think this is just an artifact of the color composite making tool. I looked at the g-r-i FITS images using ds9 with log scaling in each filter and the color gradients are not as contrasting as in the image on the left.

I am not completely confident about the nature of this bluish white object but the high flux of the object and the colors indicate that this is most likely a star in close projection to a group of yellow galaxies.

I believe we may come across a few more stars/objects with similar profiles who would appear to have similar bluish rings with a yellowish/red center, as a result of this artifact.

Thanks @Anupreeta for your DS9 check.

I succeeded to spot this object with Id
    SDSS J020326.33-055531.5 1237679341103874245

which seems to have the photometry of a quasar

    u g r i z
    18.90 18.67 18.38 18.06 17.74

    SDSS

A quasar was my guess seeing the filters images, and then the terapix cuts-out

    ugrugr
    grigri

    riz riz

Notice the terapix gri got the same processing artifact as SpaceWarps 😃

I wonder if this 'quasar' is magnified in the light of sight of the small group (not very massive?)

Thanks for putting up different visualizations - it's pretty clear now that this isn't an Einstein ring.

It's probably a star, but there's nothing to stop it being a quasar (it's really hard to tell the difference with photometry alone).

The SDSS photometry satisfies the search criteria of Low-z QSO candidates using the color cuts from Gordon Richards.

I agree it's not a proof but a strong point to reject most of star classes.
