the one on the left is the sim (duh!) 😉
But what about the arc around the (almost) central galaxy ?

That's a very believable arc but one has to be extra careful with the -- reddish galaxies + blue arc(s) / point(s) + hint of gas combo since many of them turn out to be star-forming galaxies. I'm leaning towards SF galaxy with this one.
