If it wasn't 9 pm and night and I didn't have to work tomorrow, I would love to have a hangout to discuss modelling 😃
Maybe we should set a time and date for over the weekend so more people can get involved? I don't want people to feel excluded just because they are not online 😃
Maybe @psaha should record something so people can view it in their own time? 😃

Friday evening UTC or saturday would work for rafael_kueng and me to hangout with anyone who would like to discuss lens models. SpaghettiLens is still alpha and you will need to be patient with us. But it would be great to have a mini science conference!
No equations involved, but plenty of geometry.

Do you need a camera to join, I followed the last link and it installed something but went no further.
This is the link I followed from Rafael https://plus.google.com/hangouts/_/5f1caca7ac99742cd3ce118a433c1b63a7559686?hl=en-GB
What went wrong?

If you want to chat to others in the hangout you will need a microphone and speakers - but I always find it works better with a webcam, more interaction.
As for the link, it will only work for as long as the hangout is active in google+ and for that single occasion; so possibly it was not active?

Sorry the hangout link didn't work yesterday, we never worked out what the problem was. The hangout itself seemed fine, and we had it live for a couple of hours. Direct invitation via google+ circles seems more reliable - just add Rafael or me to a circle and we can invite you.

Well, here is a page waffling on about lensing in general, and very briefly introducing SpaghettiLens at the end.
This particular approach (that is, using wavefronts and Fermat's principle) is only one of several ways to think about lensing, but many people (including rafael_kueng and myself!) find it very intuitive and powerful, once we get used to the spaghetti loops.

Busy reading the page now - love the animations 😃 Very easy to understand as well!

summing it up:
to join the hangout you'll need: a google account (plus.google.com), speakers, preferably a mic / headset, and a camera is nice to have, but not important.and of course my address:
rafi.kueng@gmail.comPlease add me, then I'll send you an invitation.
