Galaxy Lens Simulation question?

If this were a real Spiral lens would the arc show up a lot bluer (darker) than it does in this simulation or would it be comparable to it?

Its hard to say exactly, depends upon the color of the background source. As we look farther in the Universe, galaxies have many young stars which make them appear bluer, but the redshift can counter this effect. We drew the colors of the sources directly from the CFHT catalog.
The main problem with this sim is that the bulge of this spiral was identified as a separate source at a higher redshift than the spiral galaxy actually is.
