I started to notice how these came in pairs and wonder if it is some natural occurance that is somewhat common. Is something being lensed or is there some other explanation for them coming in pairs like this?
Your thoughts.
What I have been collecting some of them before I started saving zoomed images.

I think most of them are overlaps or chance alignments.
In the first seven sets (1 normal / 1 zoomed) of images, the round object is a star in our galaxy and it is just a chance alignment with a galaxy from our * view point 😃
*well, the telescopes actually!

These are just 12 out of the 27 I have collected so far, have you looked at the others? If so do you think that a collection of spiral and edge on in close proximity would be a common occurrence or two stars on either side of an edge on would be a common occurance or these would be few and far between?

The last image is an edge on and an elliptical galaxy - no signs of interaction, so just an alignment.
Second to last set - a galaxy and a star.
Third to last - 2 galaxies.
You will see alignments / overlaps all the time - it is a busy universe we live in 😃

This is a challenge for you or anyone to take up, let me know how you make out considering how vast the universe is it should be fairly easy right? It is just that I think some physics is involved concerning what I have been collecting.
